Bathirimedu, Kancheepuram , Tamil Nadu 600069

Bathirimedu is a village in Kancheepuram district and has a population of approximately 1590 people. Residents are mainly involved in daily wage work. The residents who have been living in Bathirimedu for 20 - 30 years strongly feel that it is the most sidelined village in the Mangadu area. The residents experience a host of challenges such as very poor drainage,  unhygienic, contaminated water, inadequate sanitation facilities, inadequate opportunities for fruitful employment, inadequate educational oportunities (Government School is 2kms away, the Private School is too expensive for all to afford, as a result there are a few drop outs in the village)
